During this course, we were ale to practice writing in a way I have never learned before. This course helped me become a better writer all throughout and it helped me achieve my goal this year of becoming a better writer than how I first started out . This course challenged me to change my old habits of writing and learn new Efficient the ways to make a stronger paper. I really witnessed myself grow as a writer. Although we were learning from home, this did not take away from the relevance of this course and how much it he has helped us grow as writers. Seeing my grade for the first paper I did this year and the last one I did, there is a huge difference because there is so much growth.
The learning outcome I have improved in is enhancing strategies for reading, drafting, revising, editing, and self-assessment. This learning strategy Is very significant in our class because we focused on these strategies. This class was focused on creating a piece of writing and working harder to revise it and make it better. I really improved in writing, when i look at my writing at the beginning of the year and i look at my writing now there is a big change and a big improvement. As class continued i focused more on looking at the test in a deeper context and on a deeper level. Understanding the text helped me point out the rhetorical strategies, it also helped me understand the text on a better level and understand why the author is using these literary elements while writing and the type of atmosphere and environment it creates. Furthermore, something that has really helped me grow in this class is creating a draft. Submitting a draft and getting feed back from my professor and my classmates was so ideal in helping me master and enhance my strategies for reading, drafting, revising, editing, and self-assessment. Revising and editing are also a factor of my growth in this class, being able to see y mistakes and being able to take into consideration how to edit and revise my writing brought my papers on a more intellectual level and helped me improve as a writer as a whole. Self assessing and the self assembly is a major part of this learning process. Releasing your own mistakes and being able to look at the level your writing is at is a great step. This class has really helped me grow as a writer and writing about different styles and in different styles helped me improve my writing styles and expand them.
This experience as a whole was great, I have never never truly enjoyed an English course as much as i truest enjoyed this one. I feel like I improved in all of the learning objectives, therefore, I don’t know which one to say I’m struggling with. However, learning to choose scholarly sources was by far the hardest part and most challenging part for me in this class. Most of the times I didn’t find articles That I enjoyed writing about, and this made it harder for me to do most of the assignments. However, this happened in the first few papers and the more I searched for scholarly sources, the easier it was for me and the more ways I learned to look for peer reviewed articles.
Overall, I am very proud of my progress in this course. I went from doing not so good on my first paper which was the rhetorical analysis, to do amazing on my last two papers. I greatly learned from my mistakes and from the feedback I was getting from my peers and from my professor.
